In
the United States Obesity is a growing problem in both adults and in children. With the growing economy we are left with growing
people. Obesity is caused from, the amount of food a person eats, ones lack of exercise, and in some cases genetics. With
the growing amount of fast food restaurants, and dollar menus, it makes it more convenient for a person to go eat a 3 dollar
meal, instead of going to the store and making a 15 dollar meal just for healthy food, and plus there is no cooking involved!
But when going to a fast food restaurant there isn’t the realization that in one Double whopper with cheese at burger
king has 1010 calories in it and a large French fry at McDonalds has 550 calories. Eating this amount of calories two or three
times a day adds up in the long run. In order for a person to gain a pound one must eat 3,500 calories and have no additional
exercise. It adds up fast! Individuals that are Obese have a 50 to 100% chance of premature death. Obesity is a deadly disease that affects 5.5million people today.
Obesity is the cause of 300,000 deaths a year and can result in about seven different Cancers, Osteoarthritis, Sleep
Apnea, Obstructive Apnea, Respiratory disease, Type 2 Diabetes High Blood Pressure, Cardiovascular disease, Heart Disease,
High Cholesterol, and many many more. Among the many problems in society today, obesity is near the top or the list, being
two times more deadly then cigarettes, alcoholism, and drunk driving put together.
